Administrative Assistant - Counseling & Advising

Basic Function: Serve as receptionist to students, college personnel, and the general public. Maintain counselors and advisors calendars and provide secretarial support. Prepare registration materials for returning students. Process applications for health career programs. Issue student IDs and maintain Imaging system of student records. Assist in supervision of work study students.

Salary and Benefits:  The base salary for this position is $13.54 hourly in accordance with the salary schedule established for Office Clerical.  Fringe benefits of Blue Cross/Blue Shield major medical health insurance, eye care, dental, life and disability insurance.  Retirement benefits as provided by Social Security and IPERS or TIAA-CREF.

Serve as receptionist to students, college personnel, and the general public. Maintain counselors and advisors calendars.
Schedule registration appointments for advisors, prepare student information for advisors, and prepare registration materials for students.
Process applications for Associate Degree Nursing, Practical Nursing, Radiology Technology, and Physical Therapist Assistant. Notify students of application status and maintain student Image Records.
Prepare registration materials for Certified Nurse Aide course.
Provide reporting support to Health Division Faculty (Informer reporting).
Issue student IDs.
Maintain Imaging of student documents and files.
Provide secretarial support of advisors and counselors.
Assist Cooperative Education Advisor with preparation of Co-o material.
Assist in supervision of assigned work study student(s') work.
Perform in a manner which strengthens the coordination and cooperation of all organizational components of the College, including opportunities for student recruitment.

Qualifications: A minimum of one year of specialized postsecondary education or a minimum of one year of related work experience. Ability to work efficiently and accurately in an atmosphere of frequent interruption. Ability to perform diversified tasks including all office clerical functions: typing (50 wpm with accuracy), filing, and operating all office equipment adequately,; experience with word processing preferred. Ability to organize assigned tasks efficiently.
